Baby Teething: How to Ease the Pain

Baby teething can be quite troublesome to both parents and the baby.  There is never a fixed teething timetable for a baby, and thus as a parent you need to get ready with whatever issues that may arise out of this process.  In general a baby will start teething when he reaches 7 months old.  During the early stage of teething, the gums will usually itch and a lot of saliva will be produced.  When you notice that your child starts picking up things and munching on them, this might be a sign that he has started teething.  You can also feel the appearance of teeth by running your fingertips on the baby’s gums.

The first few teeth that will appear during baby teething are the four front ones.  This set of teeth is known as incisors.  Even though they are cute to look at, the whole process is rather painful to your baby.  Giving your baby some soothing solutions like teething toys or applying teething gels will help in relieving the pain.

The teething process takes more than a couple of months to complete, and along the way your baby might feel uncomfortable due to the pain. The growth of molars will also cause a level of discomfort to your baby.  In order to provide quick relief, you can also use Calpol since it is made specifically for babies.
